Rose Short Film
I really wanted to review a fantasy. So I found this short film called Rose. It’s a 2014 short film directed by Elliot Farinaro.
So it’s is about a young witch with a spell book who on one lazy day is playing with her wand and performing various spells. Then out of nowhere a spell book appears with a mysterious note. After she reads the note, another version of herself shows up and they battle.
The good? The special effects are convincing and the battle is nice.
The bad? I’m not sure what the point of this film was. They show her reading the book six hours later at the beginning of the movie, but its destroyed in battle which happens before that event . Also why did a double of her show up to fight her? Where did the book come from? It seemed to have no point what so ever.
Overall , this film can be skipped. The lack of story hurts it entirely. As it mirrors some elements of Harry Potter, I can only see some Potter fans enjoying this.
