Steel and Sorcery : A Run of the Mill Fantasy

Short Film Theatre Steel and Sorcery

Holy wow! It has been such a long while and I’ve been working my butt off. So what does the typical American do when they hop online after a long day. Well they watch mind numbing videos on youtube of course. And today I found a short film called Steel and Sorcery. Directed by Verban Marjanovic Wellster.

The film is a medieval dungeons and dragons like fantasy. And an epic tale erupts about time when knights and witches must come together to destroy an evil that has invaded the land. And that’s about it.

The good? Costumes are great. The setting is great. Real work went into the choreography. And the special effect are not stellar but good enough. And the narrator. I swear I heard that voice from some other movie. Its a great voice.

The bad? There’s not much substance to this. It’s an epic battle montage with this powerful story behind it. Its clichéd and not all that original. Despite being incredibly well done it doesn’t do anything to stand out against other short films like this.

Overall this is just okay. Some people will love it. Others will hate it. But most will probably go meh and forget it a while later. So you should if you would like it or not by this point. This is made for a very specific audience.
